If they can trick the president into believeing they have the authority, then if he gives it up that's his ignorance. I don't believe the congress has done any wrong as legal terms go. The president, in my opinon needs to continue with the knowledge he is the Commander and Chief, and go through with his plans and do the same as Reagan would do and ignore these arrogant, jokers.

The title is Commander in Chief to Commander in Chief with Supervision. Pelosi should defund the war not try to run it. I think she is overstepping the authority by demanding they be consulted on every move. Maybe that is what should happen. We can get a yeah or nay for her on every issue......
1) Johnny wants to go to the bathroom.....
2) Whats for lunch......
3) Whats for dinner.......
4) What move do we show tonight.....
etc.
That ought to give her something to do and get her out of the way so the troops can win the war that she authorized the Prez to do.

The President may be Commander in Chief, but he is not a king or an emperor, therefore, he is accountable to the people of the U.S. and their representatives in the government, i.e. Congress.

Separation of Powers, Mr. Genius.
Pelosi is not in the military and then does not have to follow GWB's orders.
Also the Congress has the responsibility to oversee and fund this war. They are not bound to say yes to every request.
Are some of you Neo-con types looking for Bush to have a Monarchy?
Some of you even go so far as to call criticism of Bush treason. Serious delusions...

The president knowingly LIED to the country and the world about going into this damn war!!!!!
It has been proven by our own government!!!
Pelosi and Congress have every legal right to cut off Bush's funding.
It is not sedition.
George Walker Bush is a traitor and should be impeached and imprisoned along with several people in his administration.

You seem to have no clue on how the US government works. The Congress is a check on the power of the executive branch. If the congress wanted to, they could end all funding of the war and it would be legal.
Read the constitution sometime.

It's not a black and white power. The president has to have congress's support. Ever heard of the balance of the powers?

each branch of the government is equal, so one branch doesn't get out of control. since the republicans have had control of all three, they have been able to do whatever they want, but now that the dems have control, common sense once again is back in the congress.
