In the NL I'll go with Arizona's Chris Young (CF) and in the AL Alex Gordon (3B) of Kansas City.
Both players are superstars in the making.

From everything I've read the American League ROY of the year is going to come down to Alex Gordon, Dice-K or Delmon Young.

All three have great attributes. Young is a great hitter with defensive chops to boot. Alex Gordon is a five tool player who may or may not make the switch to the OF, reports are still varied on who's going to switch Gordon or Teahen. Dice-K probably has the best advantage of them all b/c he is going to get the most media attention and plays on the best of those three teams. Although with all of the pressure already on his shoulders he will need to outproduce both of those two to earn the award as he isn't "technically" a rookie and everyone knows it. Ichiro did it b/c he came in with high expectations and went above and beyond. Dice-K also has high expectations...so do Gordon and Young, but not on the same level as Matsazuka.

In the NL I'd say right now Chris Young or some other member of that D-Backs roster has to be the front runner. I know Bailey and Pelfry and some others are slated to make the show, but it's still up in the air. Young is already labeled the starting CF in Arizona...so he has the nod over the others.

Either way it should be a great season. Last year Jeremy Hermida was the can't miss ROY of the year pick in the NL and we all saw how that worked out. He wasn't even one of the top five rookies on his own team!!

Let the games begin....

For the NL I will pick Mike Pelfrey. He will likely end up starting for the Mets and for that reason alone he could win 10-15 games.

In the AL, I will go with Delmon Young barely over Alex Gordon. Delmon got a taste last yeat of the majors and will be better prepared for it than Gordon.

1. Delmon Young (Devil Rays), 2. Alex Gordan ( Royals) in the AL and 1. Chris Young (Diamondbacks) or 2. Kevin Kouzmanoff (Padres) in the NL. Sox fans should stop riding the Matsuzaka bandwagon, pitching in Japan isn't the same as the majors. No one is worth 100 million dollars every 5th day.

Delmon Young - He proved in his stint last year that he is the real deal.
As for Alex Gordon - he won't even make the team out of spring training. He is a non-roster invitee. I am sure he will be a good player, but won't be eligible for rookie of the year probably this year.

I like Delmon Young. He looks like Josh Gibson. Of course, no one this side of Babe Ruth is as good as Josh Gibson, but Delmon will be much better than any other rookie, IMO. I see numbers at least .290-25-90
