Safe???? The Iraqis couldn't organize a block party much less a democracy. No way... the sunnis and shiites are just warming up, and Iran and Syria are more than happy to schlep arms to them to continue their civil war. Guess who else is in that dirty little picture.... Russia ! Apparently some of the bombs the Americans have discovered have the Russian autograph. This iis beginning to make VietNam look like child's play.... and we know what a disaster that scene was.

These "Boneheads" as you say were hoping that the Iraqis could safeguard their own Capital. It would have proven alot if they could have. But they are too ignorant to the fact that they are now free to express themselves without fear of reprisal.BUT there is reprisal because the brainwashing of many ,many years does not dissipate overnight. We have not utilized their oil. Their oil is going to be used to rebuild if and when they ever stabilize. It's not about the oil. If we wanted oil we'd take Irans. Which is just around the corner. To kill or tame the beast you must first take away it's heart. Iraq is the heart. It will go down in History as one of the most ingenious moves ever made by any President ever. And until this is realized and accepted by all, I think all you owl saving tree huggers should have made good on your promise to go tie yourselves to the bridges of Baghdad during the Shock and Awe!

Baghdad safe?? the US troops will never make it safe even with a million soldiers. The Iraqis must arrive at a political settlement as a start to ending the bloodshed.

because the Iraqi army didn't exist then in enough numbers, and the oil is flowing now, that's why al quaeda have told their followers to bomb the oil instillations..simple innit. Hit the yanks where it hurts, in their pockets at the gas guzzling pumps. Watch the future news and guess what..I told ya.

I don't know where you got that from but it is anything but safe due to a string of atrocities committed very recently and probably at the moment, for all I know.
