It sounds to me like your mum could be suffering from an inability to cope with humans; perhaps, she's been hurt & has lost faith in people?
Maybe she feels ashamed cos she knows that's causing her to let you down, but, in a vicious circle, if she doesn't know how to talk to you about what's she's going through...
That's one possibility.
Another possibility is maybe your mum is shallow, selfish & too blind to see that you need her love, time, care & attention?
Sadly, whichever she is, that's something you have to work out,
cos you know your mum...
Once you've decided on the category...
you either help her all you can, in the hope, one day, she'll respond favourably to you,
or you nurse your wounds, walk away, tell her where you are & that if she ever gets around to needing her daughter, she can always give you a call.
It's tough when you feel rejected by your mum...
so my advice is not to put yourself through that painful misery i.e. don't try to cut her out of your life unless you really have to, to survive, cos otherwise, you'll only risk having an identity crisis! Much better if you can learn to say:
"Hey! I've had enough of this! It stops here! Right now!"
to talk (&convince) yourself into refusing any more pain, whilst still knowing she's still there in body & mind, it's just that she's sort of detached from you now, yeh?
Do you understand that?
Not all mums are perfect! Many mums have problems & they don't wanna burden their kids... so they shy away, get all tetchy...
You can only really respect that. Ask her what's wrong. If she doesn't want to talk about it... well, you've tried, haven't you?
If she's merely an uncaring mum, & always has been a let down... then why are you still beating yourself up, caring about her, when that's making you miserable?? Sooner or later you have to find the strength to stop your wound from gushing...
I wish... there was something else I could say.
Ah yes! Cheer up? All the best xx

you are able to in trouble-free terms be your actual evil self in the front of kinfolk. once you're a daughter, then you quite're Mum has seen the worst, once you're a son, then you quite're Dad has seen the worst. There are things you tell your mom and father that they could't percentage, and it is the reason Mums love sons and Dads love daughters. If Dads knew what Mums knew (and any incorrect way round) the international would implode(explode) it is the reason. and it is the reason it continually will be

It's an odd and peculiar thing. But some people who can't relate to other people often pour themselves over an animal or pet. Sometimes they have a hard time showing love or affection to other people, and it may be because of they way they grew up.
For me, I just had to live with it; there was nothing that I (nor my own parent) could do about it other than avoid conflict.

You have to tell your mum how you feel....she is probably unaware that you are feeling this way! Have a chat with her, don't just say you give the cat more attention than me....tell her what you're thinking and how it makes you feel!
I'm sure that will do the trick
Good luck

Tell her you want to go to family counseling. I don't know how to get her attention more, but that sounds horrible. Believe me, I had a rotten mother, too. Just be a good daughter and know that it's not too long until you are 18 and can move out and make your own rules. I wish I could help, but the problem lies with your MOTHER, not with you. You aren't doing anything wrong.

sit down and have a chat with your mum. maybe ur mum doesn't give u much attention cos she thinks u are grown up and independent and would not like it. or maybe she doesn't know how. do u give her attention? cos when u love someone and u show this by your actions, if they love u they will show their love too. speak to her and let her know how u feel.

I am so sorry and show her your question.
Tell her how you feel and if she doesn't, tell her sister or someone else who is close to her, and ask them to talk to her.
Do not share this with a male adult. The wrong person could take advantage of you.
Good Luck dear.

talk to her, she probably really loves you but sometimes parents find it hard to show it, the cat doesnt argue with her, just shows her affection, thats why she spends more time with the cat, you cant make your mum love you more because she probably loves you with all her heart
