Same reason google became so popular: word of mouth.
Also the media coverage it now gets gives it a big boost.

Myspace is a great way to meet people, whether they want you to or not. People feel like that can express themselves more freely through a webpage like myspace, and can meet some people and have tons of friends. Some people have gone a little overboard with it, I will admit. But myspace is just plain fun.
Many adults are getting them for some reason, to keep in touch with each other, or maybe their kids. My mother was going to get one because she and my father are divorced, but she didn't.
There is a problem with online predators now, because of the exponential growth of myspace. People are being harassed online, and don't know what to do about it.
If you want a myspace page, just be careful not to get into something you cannot easily get out of!

impulsively? i'm no longer into facebook/Myspace in any respect yet from what i've got heard, facebook exceeded Myspace a protracted time in the past. the known public's flavor variations at once with new technologies. On minute that's the "in" ingredient to do, and the subsequent minute you're left in the dirt by ability of your self.

Myspace is terrible. Old men hitting on little girls. its fun of nasty stuff and nasty people. I used to go there but my husband hated it so much that I stopped and realized how bad it was.
My sister ran away with a guy from myspace, so I hate it :)

Myspace has allways been popular, I mean they get millions of hits daily. Its just that now its when you see them on yahoo answers all the time and that's you realize how big they really are.
(by the way, I personally don't like my space, just stating the facts)

There are way more adults there; And in many cases, Bands and companies have found it to be a great marketing place.
It is definitely no longer a kids place, if it ever was

i don't know. i've been a member for about 2 years. my cousins got me into it. before, i had never heard of it before. then the next year i see everybody talkin about it.

its a way for old friends to get together. I love it cause my friends from high school are on it and we can stay in touch
