The British wanted to reward Emir Faisal for Faisal- Weizmann Agreement of 1919 advocating immigration of zionists and creation of a jewish state, and made him the King of Syria. Then the mandate of Syria and Lebanon was given to France and it expelled him.
In newly created Iraq, British organized a plebicite and made Faisal King of Iraq. As far back as in 1925 a constitution was passed and constitutional monarchy established there..But there was local opposition which ultimately did away with monarchy in 1933. Bush has, thus, repeated history, with American taxpayers
funds and his crdebility.

To desmond, the question was about Iraq. That ends with a q. Iran ends with an n. That makes them two separate countries. And like a very intelligent person b4 me said, that would involve Bush having to pick up a book without many pictures.
