Specifically of he wore #8 in the minors, and what his uniform looked like. I need to know if he had a name on the back of his jersey or just his number. (I'm trying to make a replica jersey for my Dad.)

Following a stint in the U.S. Navy during World War II where he served as a gunner's mate in the D-Day invasion, Berra played minor league baseball with the Newark Bears before being called up for seven games in the major leagues in 1946. The following season he played 86 games for the Yankees, and he would play more than a hundred in each of the following fourteen years.

You may not know this, but Yogi has his very own web site:

I'm sure Yogi never had his name on the back of his uniform during his playing days in both major and minor league baseball.

Yogi has always been one of my favorite players. He his knows for some of his famous sayings, but I'll tell you... he was one heck of a baseball player. He was a great bad ball hitter... he could swing at a pitch that was over his head and knock it out of the ballpark. He was also a very good defensive catcher... he may not have looked the part, but he was outstanding. And above all, Lawrence Peter "Yogi" Bera has always been a great ambassador for the game of baseball.
