If the gas drops are working, then keep giving them to him. They won't hurt and you can give the drops to him as much as you want. It doesn't really sounds like gas, it sounds like he's constipated. If he's pooping normally, then I guess it is just gas. If not, you should talk to his doctor. He might need to switch formulas again.

Yes, he's pooping fine. My daughter poops once a day. You might try gently pushing his legs up to his stomach and moving his legs like he's riding a bicycle, if the gas drops stop working.

I put my premature twin boys on Nutramigen formula and it greatly decreased the amount of gas in about 3 days. The problem is it is extremely expensive. I gradually switched them back to soy around 7 months and so far we are doing fine.
The gas drops stopped working for us after a couple weeks so that remedy may be short lived. I also worked as much gas out as possible each diaper change by excercising their legs in a bicycle like motion and mini crunches.

It is rarely constipation. Your baby is learning to use his muscles that help him expel his gas. It looks much worse than it really is. Suckling helps babies move gas through their system. If he is not crying a lot then try to let him deal with it naturally so his body can learn what to do. If it concerns you that bad I would ask my pediatrician.
