have you read any of Rosemary Rodgers' books...she'd the "queen of historical romance novels" she's wrote quite a few, but she has a 3 book series about 2 characters Steve and Ginny..
they are:
"Sweet Savage Love"
"Dark Fires"
"Lost Love, Last Love"

they are really great! i first read them when i was in high school, but have read thm several times over the years....they are a little sexually explicit though...

I just read a book called Molly. I cannot remember who the author was, but it is super good! I also love Gone with the Wind, and Molly (the main character) is very similar to Scarlet. Plus, she's Irish and also has to go through war (only its WWI). Anyway, I think you would really enjoy it, but its not like a Harlequin romance if that's what you are looking for. It actually has a good plot as well as a few romances.

Lisa Kleypas is fairly tremendous - i have study each and everything she has placed out. I also like Hannah Howell (very Scottish) Johanna Lindsey Phillipa Gregory (more beneficial historic than romantic in some approaches) Amanda quick is a chilled author Julia Quinn - fairly solid Elizabeth Lowell is solid too

I am a fan of the Gone with the Wind book and film, have you read Scarlett the sequel? it is by Alexander Ripley and just as spectacular as the original.

I like the Viking series by Sandra Hill. And I like the Nerd series (The Nerd who Loved me). I don't have a time period I like the most, just as long as it's good.
