You are right. They are stupid. I'd say they were ignorant but there is too much evidence to the contrary. If you are ignorant you just don't know. Sutpid means you refuse to learn what is obvious.

If you'll read the classic "The Golden Bough," you'll see numerous examples of how in pre-industrial societies people believed that the king caused the rain to fall and caused the crops to grow. If there was drought or crop failure, the king often paid with his life for not having done his job. Human beings are no more intelligent today than they were back in those days.

the president's decisions have a huge impact on the economy, since the condition of the economy is greatly influenced by speculation, and how other countries, feel about our leader. those feelings have a big influence on their investment decisions.
who else do you think decides on how to handle foreign policy??
and when he had a rubber-stamping congress, he pretty much did have that control....now he doesn't...checks and balances are back again HOORAY!

He has the ability to hire/fire whoever he wants. He hired Rumsfeld and Ashcroft and chose Cheneyburton as his VP, etc. So although it is indirect, the president does have a lot of power.
Too much power if you ask me.

lol, I guess I do. You forgot the ability to make hurricanes, hit our coastlines. Although I will say this. It comes with the job. If the media is not on your side your going to be blamed for everything that happens without accomplishments ever being taken notice of.
I believe Roosevelt said it best. "If you want a friend in Washington........get a dog."

I don't think it's stupidity, but rather ignorange. People need to educate themselves on politics and really want to understand what is going on in the world before they should speak about it. Everyone has their own opinion and you have the right to your own opinion. Debate is good and healthy as long as it is done construtively. So no, I don't really think it's funny but yes it is interesting.

*Dang, I dropped my keyboard. **** you Bush!*
People are weird like that and all of the worlds problems are dropped on the President. Same thing happened with Clinton.

Yes, that is really funny, considering how the president acts...He is so silly sometimes...Seems to be a cartoon character that forgot where he put his bottle...

It's not funny when you realize how long it took the left (media, teachers unions, et al) to dumb down the entire population of what used to be the 'land of the free, home of the brave.'
It is incredible how many people know absolutely nothing about politics.
