How can pirates be stranded on an island! they must be awful pirates...

I'd side with the Ninja. I speak a little japanese, and I took a budo tae-jutsu class a few years ago. The Ninja would ROUT the pirates, and I will be on the winning side.

Neither, I'd just nick the pirates ship, sail away and leave them to fight amongst themselves. Hopefully there would be a stash of gold doubloons on board to set me up for life
