Since they are so close in age and the fact your sisters cooperation would be needed for any charges to be filed the state of WI will do nothing, I also live in WI and work in law enforcement. What actual evidence does anyone have they are having sex a infant to do DNA testing, photos etc. you need actual evidence. Also at most it would just be a misdemeanor as it is only a misdemeanor offense. Also since your sister is closer to 18 than 17 I'm sure that has to be taken into account. Also is your family prepared for you sisters wrath and the fact in a few short months when she is 18 and goes to her boyfriend despite all your efforts. Your sisters getting to old for the system and she knows it, how old is she actually 17, 17 1/2, 2 months from 18, see what I mean, time is on her side. You'd all do better trying to reestablish a relationship with your sister at this point, you all may find yourselves cut from her life.

Last I was aware, age was 18.

This is the first chart I found, it's kind of bizarre, but does list 18 as the age of consent for Wisconsin.

I think the parents can press charges for statutory rape, but I would have do some researching to find out. If the girl is still in school, the police laison (if they have one) or the school nurse or counselor could also probably answer that question. In the case of an actual rape (even date rape), then the age limit is a mute point and all that's required is to have an exam and file a police report. I'll see what I can find though.

I'm from WI and I'm positive the age is 18 however, the law bends a little when they are close to 18. Unless it was like a 43 year old doin' a 17 year old they may consider charges. If it is consensual and because they are so close I doubt charges can be brought. I also work as a legal secretary and trust me they would find a way out if the boy was charged. Good Luck.

Honestly at her age, there is very little they can do. Because he is only 18, so there is not a HUGE difference between them.

I would suggest calling your local court house just to see if you could form the case against him.
