We don't win anything. We don't occupy countries so we don't win land, as the Russians hope to do when they were there. We toppled a genocidal regime in Iraq and have stayed around to stabilze it which is about impossible with the people who live there. What would you be saying if we had gone in Iraq, toppled the regime and left? The UN declined to send peacekeepers so we stayed to try to let a government grow. If there is this much violence with us there what hope would the average Iraqi have if we had left them. No war is a good thing but wimping out near the end is the worst thing of all. You must be able to see that vocal opposition to the exit plan has created a increase in violence to help you sway public opinnion and maybe derail the exit plan which involves one last push at the terrorist cells. The problem I have with wimping is that it places the soldiers left there in more danger. With talk of trying to cut off funding to the troops in the field, or block reinforcements sent to finish it off...that probably doesn't help the effort to end this and it now finally becomes more like Vietnam. With the Dem Party undercutting the troops in the field. And thats what eventually led to the upsurge in the Republican Party. When you shoot yourself in the foot eventually you cannot march. Have at it.

That's it!?!?!? The Kurds are happy so "Well done George!".

I think the best we can hope for at this point is some semblance of stability but even then what you'll now have is a stable friend to Iran. If we screw up in Afghanistan, we'll have two new friend of Iran. Wow how bad is this!!!

Maybe the best way to do it is to split Iraq into three countries. I don't know its pretty messy so far...

No war has ever had time limits placed on it!!!!! winning this war means an Iraqii government up and functioning, country being rebuilt and iraqiis free of insurgent attacks. In other words , the Iraqii people being allowed to live the day to day life every human being deserves.
The taliban is out and about because we haven't put the screws to them!

Win the f'n war. Get the people in Iraq to stand on their own feet without killing each other with car bombs.

Have you been to Iraq to assess whether things have gotten any better?

A peaceful solution is what is wanted in Iraq. Where they can stand up and defend themselves against enemies foreign and domestic, so we can bring our troops home in victory!

How about rooting for our side for a change?

It will take as long as neccessary. Also, things have gotten better. But is a war. It is not a 3 hour movie, a fast food drive through, or a 1/2 hour Friends sitcom.

These take time. We are still in Europe and Japan from WW2...

Well if you libs are so keen to evacuate Iraq, then have your lib Congress members turn done President Bush's request for funding and completely cut the funding for the war.

Then we'll see what happens

There is no war, we invaded their country to get rid of Saddam, job done, go home. No we want their oil our president and vice president are oil men. Wake up and smell the bullshit, do some thing for your self and quit letting the TV sell you a war like they sell all other products thru commercials. Politicians have learned to sell them selves and their agendas thru the news.
