I lost weight pretty quickly after getting off of it. It took me forever and a day to get off of it but I did. I was at 160 and got down to 130. That's pretty heavy for me being that I'm 5'7 and have a small frame. I just got my rear in gear and started exercising and drinking a little more than the required daily intake of water. I also started drinking diet. I noticed that I wasn't craving as many sweets as I was when I was on it. I'm not saying it happened over night but I got off of it GRADUALLY starting at the end of december and was off of it the first week of March. I was slim and in shape in about two months after. I'm even on depakote and I lost the weight. If you know anything about that drug, you gain weight REALLY easily. Hope this helps and you get off of it smoothly.
Cheers

You won't lose the weight just getting off Paxil, and by the way congrats. of getting off. Now you need to go on a diet in order to lose it, eat complex carbs like dark bread, cut down on sugar, eat lots of veggies and fruits and drink your 8 glasses of water. Also you need to exercise, even if you're just going for a walk for 1/2 hour, but if it still doesn't come off, you need to do more rigorous stuff like Tae-Bo or join Curves, you will feel more comfortable there than in a gym and its also more reasonable.
Good Luck to you, I am in the same boat, I quit the smokes.

Please go off the paxil slowly and not cold turkey. There is a very serious issue of SSRI Withdrawal Syndrome that you don't want to have to deal with. In order to avoid this, you must go off very slowly, over a 3 - 4 month period.
I think the weight will come off just like normal weight does; with sensible diet and exercise.
Good luck !
