Is is possible for a woman to get pregnant the day after her menstrual cycle ends if using no protection, no pull out method. I was thinking her ovulation period was before her menstural cycle? But I am a guy so who knows. Please any help, my girlfriend doesn't have time to get online to ask herself.
Thanks.

Most women ovulate about 14 days after the first day of their period, but they can ovulate sooner. Some people say that semen can live inside a women for up to 4 days, although I don't know how accurate that is. So, it is possible for her to get pregnant the day after her menstrual cycle.

Actually, some of those answers are not quite right. Most women ovulate 14 days before the start of their next period. The normal period cycle is 28 days, so day 14 is right in the middle. However, some girls, get their period earlier or later. Lets say, perhaps that your girlfriend gets her period early, every 25 days...that means that she is ovulating around 12 days after her period starts. So, if her period lasts for 5 days and you guys have sex the next day, then there is a small chance that she could get pregnant because sperm can live inside a woman's body for up to 6 days.

So, here's a quick review about a woman's menstrual cycle and other things:

1. Most women get there period every 26-30 days, with 28 being the average.

2. Women ovulate 14 days Before their next period. (Subtract 14 from how many days are in your girlfriend's cycle).

3. Sperm can live inside a woman's body for up to 6 days, so even if you have sex 5 days before a woman begins to ovulate, she can still get pregnant, and that is actually the best way to get pregnant...having sex before she ovulates.

4. Ovulation usually lasts about 24 hrs...but can be more (maybe up to 3 days) if the egg somehow stays in the fallopian tube longer, without disintegrating.

Ok, hope all that is helpful!

Every woman has a unique cycles and many, if not most, do NOT have a textbook cycle. Therefore, the advice that ovulation is usually around Day 14 is usually incorrect.

It's not usual to ovulate very close to the end of a period. However, it's not terribly unusual to have fertile cervical fluid appear during or at the end of a period. The bleeding can obscure its presence. Fertile cervical fluid is what can keep sperm alive for 5 days. If healthy, living sperm are present when the egg is released, conception is very likely.

It is possible but unlikely.

Every girl is different but taking the average of a 28 day cycle with ovulation taking place at mid cycle then she would ovulate around 14 days after the first day of her period. So it depends on how long she bled for. Spetm can stay alive in her for up to 5 days. So say she bled for 7 days, you had sex on day 8, there should def be no sperm left by day 13, so you should be ok. But like I said, this is based on averages, I don't know what her cycle is really like.

Very unlikely but it does happen. Usually women ovulate around 14 days after the first day of her menstrual cycle give or take a few days.

Unlikely, but possible. Why risk the chance? Safer to practice responsible sex than create an unwanted fetus.
