What is done is done! The solution of pulling Iraq together into a solid nation can never be responsibility of the USA. It ultimately comes down to the IRAQI people. In your Opinion, is this possible for IRAQ to allow the past hatred go by and look towards a better future or are we heading towards another Beiruit collapse.

The feuds between Shia and Sunni have been gong on since Mohammad died, and will continue until one group is wiped out. The best thing for us to do is back out of the region and wait until one group destroys the other, and then begin talks with the winner. Until then, the religious war will continue. There is no rationalizing with a religious extremist, no matter what the faith.

soon, you mean in about 20 years? It takes time to rebuild or build a democracy. It's also going to time to but down the ratical's killing in the name of their God, and implement stratgies from ti reoccuring. The word you use here, and no sarcasm intended, is a compareising to whay time frame. To leave now would put the world immediatly back to where we stood 10 years ago, my time frame being 2 years.

Yes. Our great wonderfull President Bush's surge is DAMN REALLY working. The idiot Al-Sadr pig has FLED to Iran. The Mehdi Army (the death squad/bombers) will collapse soon.

Also, the suicide bombing Sunnis will learn their lesson so. Our great soldiers and the great Iraqi soldiers WILL crush the insurgency.

You watch! Iraq will stand on its own legs before the 2008 election and the great McCain will win the House and clean it from traitors.

It wasn't the IRAQI people that destroyed their own country.. It was the USA. The USA have the responsibility to put it back together and no amount of spinning is going to change this fact.

They need to split the country up now! - (like the former yugoslavia).

If the people then want to reform under a federal state it should.
Unfortunately it won't suit america if it splits up as all the oil contracts (signed the week after the war) could be invalidated.

Not if everyone leaves Iraq and resettles here!!!

If the UN had been around in the 1700s, they would have designated our forefathers as refugees and resettled them in France. Then where would we be? We would be where Iraq will be years from now. Scary...

Get the Americans out of their country they see them as occupiers. Believe me they never had violence among them selves like this until we invaded their country. Our job is done we got rid of Saddam. They are a country thousand of years old we only are a little over 200 years old. I believe they can manage just fine with out us stealing their oil from them.

It doesn't work that way. One side would have to forfeit, remember the Civil War? Did we just 'work it out'? No, we killed each other until the Cons gave up.
