Some of the songs I enjoyed from the 1980s were

Take On Me by A-ha
How Soon Is Now by The Smiths
Every Breath You Take by The Police
It's My Life by Talk Talk
The Union of The Snake by Duran Duran
If You Love Somebody by Sting
People Are People by Depeche Mode

If you have access to RealPlayer radio on your computer, please look up LAVALOUNGE they play incredible 80s music. Hope that helped.

Some great 80s songs, in no particular order (though there are SO many more that I'm sure I'll want to keep adding to this list...)

Donny Osmond - Soldier of Love
Martika - Toy Soldiers, Martika's Kitchen
Michael Damien - Rock On
Escape Club - Wild Wild West, I'll Be There
Go West - King of Wishful Thinking
Johnny Hates Jazz - Shattered Dreams
Anything by Genesis or Phil Collins - esp. Don't Lose My Number, Sussudio, Land of Confusion
Anything by Huey Lewis and the News - Stuck With You, Hip to be Square, Power of Love, Back in Time, Heart and Soul
George Michael - Faith, Father Figure, Monkey
Peter Gabriel - Big Time, Sledgehammer
Madonna - most of her early stuff
Police - Every Little Thing She Does is Magic, Every Breath You Take, Don't Stand So Close To Me

Like I said - I'm sure there's more - but that should be enough to get you going...

Most of Madonna's '80's music was pretty good. There's also the Eurythmics, the Police, Warrant, Men At Work, Blondie and Stevie Nicks. Not to mention ZZ Top, Cheap Trick and Kenny Loggins. Those are my favorites anyway.
