Call some local shoe stores: they'll often give away the boxes for free, as it saves them from having to dispose of them (better for the environment too, rather than buying new ones).

Lots of shoe stores end up with shoe boxes because their purchasers don't want the box. Go to your local shoe stores and ask. I have several, even boot boxes, which make great photo boxes once you cover them.

Go to a discount shoe store like Payless and ask for them, they have them flat in the back and if you are nice and not competing they can let you buy some, they often donate to worthy causes.

Hi, Michael's Arts and Crafts Stores sell them....but they call them "photo boxes." They are $3.99 each, but do go on sale quite often.

If you go to "papermart.com" you'll find lots of options. It looks as though if you buy in bulk it will be cheaper.
