We know the IP address of the person who tried to hack into our server. Can we find him/her?

We believe a former employee got into a folder on our server that we forgot to lock down. He downloaded some of our files. Where can we go to find out more about the IP address he logged in with?

You can use the tools at http://www.dnsstuff.com/ to look at where the ip-address is registered etc.
