What separates the two is Rush's versatility. Bush can play as a RB, slot WR, KR/PR whereas Calvin Johnson couldn't play RB as well as Bush plays WR.
Johnson is one heck of a wide out but I find that rarely a WR makes an impact as RB so I will say Johnson's rookie year will be good but not as great as Reggie Bush's rookie season

reggie bush didn't do everything by himself, he can only average about 2 yards per carry if he didnt have a big run every game. Maurice Jones-Drew from Jacksonville had a way better rookie season than Bush but since the Saints went to the playoffs bush was better. And bush was the only reason they got there yea right.Drew Brees and Marques Colston helped way more than bush. Calvin Johnson is not going to be on a team that goes to the playoffs because his team ain't gonna have a good QB unless they find one in Free Agency like the saints did with Brees but all you guys are dumb if you think Bush is the best player in the Saints. Bush doesnt have the right attitude either cause he taunted the Bears remember. Johnson does have the right attitude and is smart, did anyone see the clips of him during the game against West Virginia. Bush's impact was mostly giving money to help rebuild New Orleans and Johnson won't do that cause there isn't any other city that is messed up and has a top 5 pick right now.
so Calvin Johnson should have a better rookie season cause everyone needs to be proved wrong.

In order to answer the question, you have to consider who will be throwing the ball to CJ. Assuming he won't go below 5, look at the scenarios:
1. Oakland- No QB, Brooks not consistent and have no running game. Too many offensiv problems here to have a great season.
2. Detroit- Competing with Roy Williams and a surging Furrey, but no real QB again to put up consistent numbers. Considering the tendency here to spread the ball around when they can throw, and Williams being a big TD target, would likely not be a huge impact.
3. Cleveland- Again, not a good QB. Braylon Edwards and Joe Jurevicious, both solid receivers, can't even put up steller numbers at Cleveland.
4. Tampa Bay- Again, no QB. Love their RB and Galloway. If Tampa could somehow get CJ at 4, this might be his best spot for success.
5. Arizona- Fitzgerald and Boldin?? No way the would take CJ too. Wouldn't get a return on their investment with those two cutting into his load. Have other areas of need.
So really, none of the top 4 teams have a QB that has proven he can get the ball to a star receiver. I would be reluctant to say CJ would have as big of an impact as Reggie, especially since he and Brees helped take the Saints from probably the worst team to one of the better teams in the NFL.

Reggie man, not often that you find a guy that made that much of an impact his rookie season. I take Reggie 99 times out of 100. Unless Calvin gets 100+ receptions or 1200+ yards or 15+ TD, Reggie is still a better man

No offense, but aside from Randy Moss and Boldin, rookie WRs almost never make as much of an impact as rookie RBs. So, would be very surprised if Calvin Johnson does more than Bush did.

plz reggie bush wasnt the best rookie on his team. colston was and would have won rookie of the year had he not gotten injured. His yards per carry was the lowest in the NFL at one point. he was also, near the bottom of the NFL in punt return average even with his return for a touchdown. So he catches a crap load of 8 yard swing passes, big deal. He didnt even have a 20 yard run!! Even though Calvin isnt in the NFL, i'd take him. Much harder to find a 6'5 230 reciever who with a 45 inch vertical, amazing hands, and runs a 4.4-4.3 40 yard dash, than a 5-11 203 lbs. scat back that averages 3.6 yards per carry and 8.4 yards per catch.

I dont think Bush got to make quite as big of a impact this year because he was sharing handoffs with Deuce McAllister, but I think he will have an overall bigger impact on the league, but Johnson will have a bigger impact in his rookie season. I mean imagine how good the Browns would be with Johnson and Edwards, or the Bucs would be with Johnson and Clayton.

are you kidding??? how does it feel to have NO ONE agree with you???? At USC Reggie played RB, WR, punt return and kick return. johnson did not do the same. he aslo plays multiple position in the nfl. i dont see johnson doing that. not to mention bush can cut on dime, make a spin move and not lose any speed!!!! BUSH IS BY FAR A BETTER ATHLETE!!!!! im not saying johnson isnt a great athlete, but to say hes a better athlete than bush is just ludicrous!!!

No because Calvin Johnson isnt the only target for his qb. Bush did share with mcallister but he also returned punts and acted like a receiver in some plays

reggie bush was one of few people two take a punt for touchdown. he made a sweet touchdown catch against the bears in the NFC championship game and is one of the biggest reasons (exept signing drew brees) the new orleans Saints had a dream season.
So reggie is much better. BUSH,REGGIE REGGIE BUSH ROCKS!!!!!
