First you will need to register a domain with a domain name provider. I have registered mine with 1&1 because they were the cheapest, but look around on google first and find one that suits you.

Then you will need a web hosting package - somewhere to host your files. I recommend The Prime Host - do a quick search on google. I've been with these for a while now, and they've not had any problems.

Once you've paid for the domain and the hosting, you will enter the 'Nameserver addresses', provided by the hosting site, into your domain settings.

The last step is getting your main webpage - index.html - and putting it in the root folder of the webhost.

There are plenty of guides around to get a website up and running. Just have a look around on google if you didn't quite understand what I told you.

You need some space first - either free or from a web hosting company, then you either load using their software or something like FTP which is like moving files from one folder to another.

well 2 ways

1. you pay for space on a server and upload your html code

2. you download a program to set up your own server from your computer (this is slower and you have less bandwith but it works)

oh for 2. youll need to have your comp running all the time cuz the files will be stored on your computer not an actual server

Best bet is to go to your local bookstore and buy several Intro to Web pages books in order to get a solid grounding before deciding how you intend to create your websites.
