I believe in a standardized FLAT TAX where every single working American pays $.15 on every dollar they earn. Simple as that. You make $10,000 a year? You pay $1500. You earn $10 million a year? You pay $1.5 million. No more 1040ez forms, no more tax breaks, no more itemized deductions, and no more complaining that the rich don't pay their fair share. With EVERYBODY contributing an EQUAL percentage of their income towards taxes, then EVERYBODY would truly be equal. (but liberals and democrats would never go for it. not when the top 20% of income earners pay 80% of the taxes in this country) As for regional disaster relief, that's a state issue. If they want federal assistance, they know the drill.

NO!!!!!

More taxes are NOT the answer. How about people NOT relying on the government for everything, and taking care of themselves for once. If you live in a hurricane / flood / wildfire / earthquake zone, then prepare for it. If a hurricane is headed your way, leave. Don't expect to sit there to protect your tivo from looters and then have William Jefferson democrat ,LA come to your rescue when you're sitting on your roof (He'll be too busy collecting the money from his freezer).

I think the people in disaster areas need all the help we can give them, and we are indeed providing a great deal of aid.

Absolutely not! The American people will always answer the call in emergency. Government messes things up way too much.
