Well I had this very same problems with my geo and when I took it to a friends garage I was told that the after market ball joints and axles would cost me more than the car was worth. He also said these parts can be very hard to locate because these cars were built with the intention of being disposable cars, not built for long time use. I think $500 is a very reasonable price if you do not want to screw anyone.

cv halfshafts are $99 at autozone $55 on ebay you have 2 of them.the the balljoint w/control arm are $56 on ebay you need 2 .a 93 metro just sold on ebay for $2550.00 w/74,797 mi. i would check around first.

I doubt you could get too much more for it, and if it is a friend who is buying it I would let it go at that. I doubt even without the problems if you could get more than 1000.

milage doesnt matter if it need 1000 worth of front end work...u could ask for more but...
