a freind has given me a DVD with 40 different music albums on it,
i need to try and save it to my pc so i can then transfer them to blank CD's(for personal use obviously)
can this be done and does anyone know how to do it????

got to file hippo.com
get nero for free
use that to rip the cd to a file on pc or just copy it to cds

Depending on how the DVD was created, you should just be able to drag and drop the music folders onto your hard drive. If that's not possible, and the DVD is encrypted to prevent copying, use DVD Decrypter.

I have one of these as well and it took a while to do.Some like the one i have can't be done with media player.
Nero would possibly work i haven't tried it with that yet but i have got it.
What i used and it works was roxio.

you can use windows media player to rip the files from the cd and then use a file burning software to burn it onto a cd
