Hollywood gets me really excited about a movie when I see it's previews. However, when I wait 9 weeks between being excited about the preview until it actually comes out, I've grown tired of the previews and fail to be excited about seeing the movie. Consequently, I saw one movie in the theatre last year.

Does anyone else lose interest in a movie after watching previews for 2 months?

Would you, like me, prefer to see previews start to appear 2 or 3 days before it comes out?

No I think that makes the movie make more money. The better the advertisment is the more anticipated it is. I feel you on what you are saying though. I feel the same way but i don't even think I say one movie lat year.

I KNOW!!! It's horrible. I've seen trailers several months, even a full year, before the movie is scheduled to be released. I saw a trailer just last month (I can't remember for what) and then it says...coming 2008. What! I especially hate when they do those stupid little teasers, where they don't really show any scene from the movie (because it's still being filmed) but just let us know it's coming. The Transformers did that last year during Pirates of the Caribbean 2. I'm still waiting for the release of that film!

I get excited and sometimes I slump a little in my seat when I see its coming out next year or several months from now. For instance 300 was a dynamic and exciting teaser and trailer that I saw early last year..I sighed when I saw it was scheduled for a March 07 release. But the studios want to get the word out about their movies to generate buzz. But they can go overboard on the trailers....for example if I see another Ghost Rider trailer I think MY skull will burst into flames.

I understand the reasons for Hollywood advertising in advance. By doing so, more people will get to see the trailers and notice the hype. If studios released the trailers only a couple of days before film's opening, then not many people will see it.

I remember The Da Vinci Code was introduced 1 year before it's release date. You remember the hype? It probably wouldn't have grossed alot if it was introduced a week before.
