Pretty good if credible candidates were brought forth. the two that are there now however do not fit that description.

I would say they are high. Look at the Idiot that people voted in the last time. I am not knocking anybodies race or color, in America anything is possible and I am glad the women and men of any race are willing to run for public office and represent the real world that the average American lives in. These rich politicians have no idea of how the average person struggles to make ends meet in this country. The day we start electing people that are truly looking to change America for most of the people, not big business, I would feel that we have achieved a true democracy where the majority is truly represented.

It's not that big of a chance since, a lot of women aren't into being President because of the work and pressure and they're not getting nominated or they don't want to be nominated. There's also not that big of a chance for an African American because people are probably trying to keep the White House white. But I, wish one of those things would happen soon because Bush is a bad President.

The chances of a woman getting elected are outstanding. Senator Clinton has a winning track record. She played a pivitol role in two presidential election campaigns in 1992 and 1996. She won here senate elections by landslide margins. She has a political/fundraising network that is strong and wide.
Armed with these resources she only needs to win all the states John Kerry won and Ohio (where the Democrats just won two statewide elections) to take the White House.

The fact that you are even asking the question provides the answer...
The American public will decide...and we will all find out together how evolved the country really is. Keep in mind that many other countries around the world have elected women as their leaders, and certainly many men of colour have led countries. We will just have to wait and see if the US is as evolved as those. Mind you, that is providing that either is the right candidate for the position.

Very slim for a woman and much slimmer for an African American!
Its sad, but that is the reality at the moment! I would vote for either! Clinton or Obama. The two would make a good team too.
All the best!/

I don't know. But Obama seems to be cool. And I would also like to see a peace loving woman, who, like every normal man and woman, uses deodorant, running for presidency (for as far as I know, no woman of the kind I have described is a US presidential candidate).

At this point in our history I think the chances are 50-50.
I do believe we're ready for something really different from what we have now.

You want someone to work out the probablities? You'd have to simplify your assumptions drastically, e.g. set aside money, personnel, polls, and just look at classic probability mathematics. I could do it but who cares? It would be quite uninstructive given the human subjectivities involved.

Depends on the person. Personally, I don't vote for race, creed, party, or gender. I vote for ideas.
