Since x is given as -3, 3x will be -9 and 3x+6 will be -9+6 which is equal to -3. What is the difficulty? It is a case of simple substitution.

You are trying to get x by it self. You don't have the whole problem. normally, you would have a problem like this:
3X-4=32 so you add 4 to each side to see what 3 X's will equal. 3X-4=32 Now to solve. -4+4=0
+4 +4
32+4=36 So 3X=36. Now you want to know what 1X is, so you divide them both by three. 3 divided by 3 is 1.
36 divided by 3 is 12. So X = 12
