I don't know if they become americanized or not,but I can tell you groups of filipino nurses are truly hateful to American nurses (from my experience). Nothing like that occured to me when I went to work in California at a facility that was predominately Filopino. I've never had difficulty getting along with anyone in a work setting,but they were hostile to me from Day 1! I felt like black people must feel sometimes.

Kind of. THey become "filipino-americanized." They try to keap a sense of "philopino-ness" and mannerisms, and are noticeably different from standard Americans, but if you take them back to the Phillipines, everybody can tell the difference. It's the same with Puerto RIcans, Cubans, and Mexicans. Pretty much any immigrant group.
