If you are already in escrow, ask to see a copy of the title report (or abstract as it's called in some states.) If you aren't, you'll probably have to go to your local hall of records to see what items affect the property.

I know in alberta, canada you can go to a registry office and pull the title. This will show any registered against the property

if your writing an offer the realtor will give you a copy...

if the realtor has given you a copy...then phone the realtor and ask..
