Clouds are formed either of water droplets, water ice crystals, or both (neglecting some exotic forms in the very high atmosphere, which may be of meteor origin). All water droplet or ice crystal clouds are actually white. Some appear dark gray because they are very thick and let little light penetrate, or they are in shadow.
When warm, humid air rises it cools (because the atmosphere is warmed by the earth, not the other way around), and eventually water vapor in this warm air (which holds more water vapor than cold air) condenses, like water drops on the side of your soda can). These droplets form clouds.
Most water vapor comes from evaporation of surface water and transpiration of water by plants.

I think that a good clue is the fact that we only see white clouds on a sunny day and on nights when the moon is bright. Its obviously caused by the light. NO LIGHT = NO WHITE.

White clouds come from white light reflecting off them.
When the sun shines on them they are really white,at night you can't see them.

Black clouds as the dark clouds come from earth weather that is vaporising (rivers, seas...) And by raining comes back to earth again... And so on in cycles but it becomes polluted every next time.

When the cloudmaker says to the baby clouds "Do you want to be black or white?" he sends them off to the right part of the sky after considering their answer carefully.
