Help! I'm trying to save the prologue in my story to a floppy and I keep getting that message! What do I do?

First, I would save it to the hard drive or to a USB drive.

The disk may be read only, or the ability to write to the floppy may be disabled on that computer.

Or the floppy is full.

Finally, it is possible that a file of the same name already exists on the floppy and that existing file is set to read-only.

Check the floppies for write protection if still you have problem try with a new floppy disk. These days most of the floppies don't work very well.

Remove the USB drive -- after going through the Safely Remove Hardware sequence -- and check the little slide switch on the side of the drive. It may be in the Locked position. If so, slide it to the Unlocked position and try again. Hope that helps

check the floppy, it has a "tab" that is much like those tabs on cassettes, when its in one positin it won't allow anymore "recording" when its in the other it does.
