Aww mate! I'm so sorry for you! It is probably due to the fact that she is a state of shock that her son has announced he is gay!
Take some advice from me if you like, and don't worry about it. Don't try to get her approval, it's your choice and your happiness! I think i may be gay, i dunno, but i hope people are supportive of me when i come out - if i do ;D
Hang in mate, best of luck! xxx

Hey, my mother beat the hell out of me repeatedly for being a sissy when I was a kid.... I think sometimes people can't understand a gay child or friend comming out because they have been conditioned by thier upbringing that boys like girls, and girls like boys... and it throws thier entire perception of how things are out the window.
My mother an I have a good relationship now, it's had low points ( Very dark days indeed ) but now... it's fine. It takes time for some people to think things through and realise gay is not a problem.
Good luck, and keep trying to talk to her.

some people cant accept their relatives being gay. I am sorry that your mother acted like that. my advice to you is to talk to someone like gay switch board. You can get gay news in major news agent. get some advice and information. be proud of what you are and live life to the full and be happy. I am bisexual and i was lucky my mother and father was great when i told them 30 years ago. 30 years on and it seems that its just as hard. there are lots of gay books in libraries and in book shops now.

Hey there. As everyone else has said its probably due to shock but don't let that stop you. Just sit down and talk to her and im sure she will understand after you are still her child no matter what your sexuality is.

She obviously is in shock. Try and sit her down when she has calmed down and had time to absorbe what you have told her.
