Its complicated....I agree but why stress yourself out over it. God can be whoever you want him or her to be... Personally I think God is a man...thats why women have to go through so much pain, giving birth....period cramps.... getting fat when they have a baby.... I think that is Gods way of punishing some women for being mean. If God were a woman...we wouldn't go through so much pain and you would be the ones to go through it.... LOL...thats what I think sometimes.

Clearly one would have to ask, which God? There are so many religions, all stating their own dogma to achieve ones nirvana. Michelangelo Buonarroti depicted God as a man when he was hired to paint the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, and if he would have created an image of God as a woman, well, then he might be better known as, Michelangelo Buonarroti the ditch digger.
Since the beginning of mankind, Man has created Gods, and with rare exception, they all sell themselves as the only God ("Thou shall worship no other before me"). But lets say for now that God has a Vagina and the Earth is the center of the Universe, and Billy Graham needs to send his message to Mecca! Now just relax and enjoy the ride into Hell. =PandaPaw=

No. What use would God have for a reproductive system? No one created God--He is and always was. This seems like a cop-out to some people, but at some point you have to grasp that there has to be SOMETHING that always was. If someone created Him, who created them? It doesn't take long to conclude that there had to have been an infinite, timeless creator at the 'top' of the 'creation chain'. . .

Neither. According to most faiths, "God created man in his own image" man meaning humans are both male and female. The word "his" is used because the English language doesn't have a similar word in a neuter conjuntive like the Germans and other languages do.
God in neither male or female. God is omnipotent according to the major faiths.

It is my belief that she is female. A few reasons behind this. First of all, I am NOT some liberal femi-nazi that goes to women's rights meetings and stages protests. I'm just a regular blue collar guy. Ok, my reasons are this:
I do not believe 95% of the Bible because it was written by human beings that are incapable of handling the serious nature of spirituality without corrupting it for their own agenda.
I do believe one thing and that is the prevailing sex on this planet that gives life is the female. I don't think anything of a male persona could pull that off without messing it up, God or no God. =)
What is going to be really upsetting is after we die we get to the Pearly Gates and we find out that God is a Dinosaur and she decided to make humans for fun after her Dinosaurs created in her image got boring.

First of all, you need to know that the God is the creator, not the createe. God is God. Male and Female are of living beings. Animal, insect, humans that kind of stuff. Living beings die. God is Eternal. This is why God can't be male or female. Because, they die!

God is an adaptation of the word GOOD as is Devil an adaptation of the word EVIL, they are a force, or forces, and therefore there is no gender.
The bible is, (for want of a better explanation) 'The Highway Code' of life, a guide to put you on the straight and narrow, stories are examples to show, cause and effect, not factual.

Male and female makes a lot of sense for entities that reproduce themselves out of their own bodies. God creates out of nothing. God needs no sex, no gender. God is complete, God is not partial like people.
God existed before creation and no one or nothing created God.

If you want a real answer to this question, and not some of the stupid responses I've seen on this question already, it's really very simple. God really is neither male or female like we know them to be. He can't reproduce, and He doesn't have the reproductive organs that we do, that distinguish us as male or female. God is a Spirit. The bible states in John 4:24 that "God is a spirit, and they that want to worship Him, must worship Him in spirit and in truth." This verse of scripture may sound like a contradiction, but not really. God is so out of our human realm of understanding of Who He truly is. In other words, He's so big, and eternal (meaning He always was, and always will be - He didn't have a beginning, nor will He have an end, He wasn't created at all - He's just always been) - and this is so mind-boggling, that it's impossible for us to truly grasp with our very finite minds, an infinite God. Make sense so far? O.K. Stay with me here. So God wasn't O.K. with that. He knew He was too big for us to grasp, but He wanted relationship with us. So He thought, "How can I get them to understand Me better?" - So He had a Son named Jesus, and sent Him to earth to help us understand who He was. Jesus was indeed male. The bible says in Hebrews 1:3 that Jesus "was the express image of the Father" - meaning He looked, sounded and acted just like God, but in human form. Think about that!!! An infinite, and eternal God squeezed Himself into a tiny human body so that He could have relationship with us! If you want to swear, this is where to do it! I will just say "Oh my gosh!!!" Jesus taught us to call God, Father, which in our understanding means male, but I believe this was just to help us understand the very nature of God. He is as a good Father - caring, loving, merciful, understanding, listening, providing, protecting, and sometimes disciplining. If you want to know more about our Father God, go to His Son Jesus Christ, and find out all you can. Pick up a bible, and start reading the Gospel of John. It will give you a good picture of Jesus, and hence, a picture of God. Hope that helps! I will pray that you find answers to all your questions! By the way, the bible also states that the fear of the Lord (meaning respect for Him) is the beginning of wisdom. Your questions will begin to be answered as soon as you begin to use your faith, and trust in Him, and in His Son Jesus Christ.

Our brains cannot comprehend the greatness of God. He wasn't created - he just is, was and always will be. I don't fully understand it, but I know it's true. Who knows if God is male, female or even something else? I don't and to be honest, I'm not bothered. All I know is that He is awesome and He looks after me in every situation!

It is not complicated. This might shock you a bit, but I need to tell you before someone else does: There is no such thing as God. There is Mother Nature though, and she is a she.
