I'm sure Syria and Iran will be much easier to deal with at this point.

Defeat isn't the problem. This war is unwinnable. There is no winning!
Our government cannot even fix everything wrong with America!

You have an administration of men mostly who make their fortunes off of oil and military contracts.
But this has nothing to do with oil or military contracts???????

How gullible are you????????
How gullible is America?????

This administration is trying to sell us ocean front property in Iraq and we are still listening and showing faith in their efforts?????????

W T F !!!!!!!

Foreign policy is what needs to change!
If we can trade and barter with the morally bankrupt Chinese government why not the Middle Eastern countries?????

Dude,

WE liberal types.. believe in the power of truth.. and if Syria and Iran do prove to be evil nasty terrosit nations.. then I'm sure the moment they rise up.. it won't be USA alone who will act but you will then have the support of Europe and Asia too..

Personally though.. I think since Iraq and Syria are both very oil and gas rich.. that they will not likely be a threat to anyone.. they live very well over there.. and unlike in USA the President of Syria can even walk the streets at night SAFELY!!

Neither Iran nor Syria has EVER been a threat.. and the only time Iran was engaged in a war with Iraq.. it was actually USA who put Saddam in power.. armed him with chemical weapons which he then used against the Iranians and Kurds.. USA was compicit in this all along!! and yet.. Iran was never once a threat.. until now..

WHY NOW??

I think it is very clear that USA wants oil, wants to dominate the middle east and continue to control the price of oil.. while it obtains its oil at 50% of market prices.. as it has done with Saudi Arabia for a long time.. giving it a competitive edge over the rest of the planet..

In any case.. if we're going to talk FAIR.. then the oil should go to 3rd world countries now so they can build roads and hosptoials just like USA has.. and mostly to Africa.. since USA enslaved blacks for centruies.. and then oversaw the destruction of Africa too.. what about them??

You know.. being Americ`an must be hard.. thinking the whole world revolves around YOU and then believing that everoyne else on the plaent beleives that too..

Here's a reality check for you.. NO ONE CARES!!!

Another narrow minded question. Iraq is in a civil war, the U.S. is stuck in the middle. Bush Sr. knew this and that is why he didn't invade Iraq but Bush Jr. thought he was smarter. Now we are losing our troops every day in an exercise of "wack-a-mole" trying to stop the insurgents. Exactly how do you win in that situation? If we actually talked to Iran and Syria we might get some help but Bush is either too ignorant or stubborn to go a diplomatic route. How is it that we could talk to Russia during the cold war, a nation that really threatened us, yet we cannot talk to the Arabs causing trouble in the Mid-east. This whole war has been a farce and will continue to be so until Bush learns to speak to those people (like the Iraq Commission recommended).

When are you Bush-bots going to grow up and act like adults? When are you going to quit trying to blame everyone else for your losses in Afghanistan, Iraq, and the pounding you have taken in the war on terror, and admit that the failures are the result of your own ignorance, arrogance, bigotry, and greed?

Invading Iraq was a stupid idea doomed to failure. Every non-partisan Middle East expert warned against it. Bush’s own father said removing Hussein would be a disaster for America. Colin Powell told the President, ‘if you break it [Iraq], you own it’.

Well…you broke it, and now you own the mess – a mess you now want to make worse. You can quit digging now. The hole is deep enough.

True. Immediately after 9/11, Iran and Syria both provided us with valuable intelligence pinning the attacks on Bin-laden and tracking him to Afghanistan. I doubt we can expect such cooperation again any time soon.

A friend was in Syria on 9/11, and the Syrian response was that we should hunt-down and kill those responsible. At that time, the entire world was with us. Now, thanks to Bush, we do not have a friend anywhere (not counting that insane guy in Australia). It is incredible the damage Bush has done to America in such a short time.

Dear,

What would it take for you to understand that the war in Iraq is un-winnable. The US war against terrorism is a big lie. US is after Oil and dominance not that this is wrong but please stop pretending to do the humanity a favor. Terrorism is the outcome of poverty and oppression. Donate half the money the US spends in its wars to alleviate poverty and the world will be a better place without terror.

Well Mr. Sean Penn impersonator, I don´t think democrats want Islamic´fascists´ to celebrate, or for America to get defeated. I think they just want to bring their soldiers home, and if you call that supporting terrorism, then maybe you should pick the name of another actor to copy your name off of. How about Charlton Heston?

Yes, because liberals as a general rule believe the United States and specifically the US Military are the source of ALL evil globally. Only the defeat of such evil will bring about a utopian world where everyone lives in peace and harmony.

This notion of course is patently ridiculous, there is no such thing as a utopian society... and as long as humans are involved... there never will be.

Tax the poor !!!

They will not be defeated in Iraq, there has been to much written about
this, and in the interim there are changes happening, now there would
be more if both those factions sat down and faced each other like
adults and took the bull by the horns and dealt with core issues,
instead of blowing each other up..............................................................
