This might mean a seroius condition that needs medical attention. Most of the time, absence of period for 3 months can mean pregnancy. So go see a doctor to clear it out.

It depends on if your using menstrual supressiong ie. taking hormonal contraceptives or if it's a natural issue. If you're taking medications, then it's fine. If it's happening for some other reason, the consequences of not having your period are not the issue, the issue is why you're not getting your periods. See a doctor to determine the issue. It could be something like malnutrition, a cyst, a hormonal imbalance, inferitiliy or even cancer. Doctor, now!

If your period have stopped for 3 months and if you are not pregnant, and if you are not taking any birth control pills, you need to go to a doctor to rule out stress, anemia etc. This is called secondary amenorrhea.

have you lost or gain weight? weight is a big factor on your period too. The consequence is you'll have difficulty getting pregnant when you want to since your cycle will be unpredictable.
