Barak Obama, unfortunately, will not be a viable contender for this round of presidential elections, and I fear anyone of “minority” status will not have a high probability for getting elected to office for some time to come. Despite all the strides we have made as a country to incorporate variety and diversity into our governing bodies, the office of Commander and Chief will invariable be occupied by wealthy Caucasian males for some time to come, because large portions of this country are still not integrated fully – both racially and with respect to ideas. This is especially true when you consider Middle America, which for the most part is pretty homogenous with regards to race and cultural values. Since Middle American, as attested to by the last Presidential election, is absolutely instrumental in electing the President to office, a man like Obama will have no chance of being elected to the highest office in the land.

Furthermore, as indicated by many survey’s and polls, Obama doesn’t come across too well in the black community; a portion of the electorate that Democrats have relied upon to achieve a competitive advantage in Presidential elections.

If the Democrats want a chance to win the next Presidential race, they must not focus on race. They need to bring a candidate to the forefront that does not polarize this nation, and can speak to the cosmopolitan person in New York, as well as the regular Joe in a rural town in Nebraska.

He has NO chance! When you are unchallenged by the media, and you yourself avoid hard ball interviews; When debate time comes around against your opponents, you will be UN-PREPARED! When you are a candidate that is using shows like Ophra to rub your race; you are DOOMED. He is only out there because of one person, Bill Clinton! No one heard of Obama until the Kerry's Nominee DNC party in 2004. Obama will not even make it as a nominee or considered for a VP slot. when a guy has to use his ears, and the word Articulate as his pity campaigne, you know he's WAY too sensitive for being the most powerfull man on the planet. Do you really think Obama could handle 1% of what they've been saying about George Bush? Your so called second black president, should have been and could have been Colin Powell. But you see what happened to him.

I still don't understand why Bill Clinton is thought of as the first black president. I really don't. He isn't black, so that's not why. His policies didn't target or specifically help the community. His cabinet certainly didn't include many African Americans

The answer to your question is no.

We had not established a presidency at the time back in 1778 or so when the so called black president you mention was head of the representatives back in the day . It is true that we elected a Black man to run the houses back then but his name does not come to mind . .

Pretty funny. I don't even think he will win the nomination. If he shows to well when the primaries begin the Clinton machine will crush him and he will be done in politics.

I haven't heard anything substantive in his speeches as yet. He seems too much of a populist to suit me.
