How were the goals of the French and English colnies different and how did this affect their relations with the Native Americans?

Very good question! You forgot the Germans and Belgiums who actually did more damage, and some effects from Belgium King are the cause of violence between cultures in Africa and Mid-east.
British, bless them, were the first European nation to actively figth the slave trade. I think French just there to plunder, and had no moral opposition to slavery.
Also, the Sheiks of Middle-east were the biggest slavers, capturing and selling to all buyers. And then, the Africans them selves sold people, and this is found everywhere in the world,even today.
I guess i didn't understand question?
Anyway, probably my answer applies. British even intercepted American slave-ships in 1800s. Both used and affiliated with various Native groups.

the english were looking to colonize and the french were looking more or less to trade
