I have been on the pill for 4/5 years now, without a break can this cause me any harm

No, it's safe to take oral contraceptives for long periods of time. There is the usual risk for breast cancer and higher blood pressure, but you probably get regular check ups for these things, but the longer you stay on hormonal contraceptives the less your chances of uterine and ovarian cancers. If you're worried about the way that oral contraceptives is effecting you, definitely talk to your prescribing doctor.

in my case yes. i was on the pill for 3 yrs i feel pregnant so the doctor changed my pill within 11 months i had a blood clot to the lung due to the pill the doctor gave me 2hrs to live luckily i pulled through. so my advice is think carefully about the pill try another way of contraception.

I took it for several years before I switched to the 3 month shot. Never had any problems from either.

I have been taking it for over 7 years now and have never had a break, i have never had any problems and provided you have regular checks on your health by your nurse then there shouldnt be a problem otherwise they wouldnt keep prescribing it.

you should have no problems as long as you take the pills as you are meant to.. all pills have possible side-effects so it would be wise to google your pill and check these. when you have this information, you will be more aware of yourself and can report any symptoms you may experience...
