Well there are several positions the packers will be focusing on this draft. With the most transparent being running back. With Ted Thompson being a conservative GM this will be interesting. He only signed Ahman Green for 1 year, so running back will be addressed.

Round 1
I can almost guarantee you that Ted Thomson will not pick a WR in the first round. They Donald Driver and Greg Jennings and it is too risky. I can Lynch being taken before Adrian Peterson because of durability concerns. Running back is a good possibility. But I wouldn't say it is for sure. Depending on the actions of the Texans and the Browns, the Packers may have the choice of the first running back in the draft. However if the only guy Thomson wants is off the board, he might look towards safety. If the top safety is on the board, this would complete an already improving defense by getting rid of Marquand Manuel.

Round 2
Whatever they don't get in round 1(runnning back/safety), I would definitely see them filling in here. The only exception would be tight end. I have a strong feeling the packers will pick up a good tight end in a strong free agency this year, if they don't however, I could see them picking one in the first round.

Later rounds to fill depth
O-Line, Cornerback, and Wide Reciever.

y do you blame the cb's for the packers big play problems on defense. you can easily point that problem at our SS manuel cause he lacks the speed to cover the deep passes. our biggest concern in HB, TE, and SS. all other positions are secondary. i think the HB position should be addressed in the 1st round as green is aging and is showing signs of being washed up. we do need a TE as franks keeps fumbling the ball and dropping most passes coming his way. as far as the SS goes, hopefully we get a steal in the draft or find someone good in the free agent market. i like adrian peterson from oklahoma or marcus lynch for Cal. if either drop into our draft pick, we cannot afford to pass up on them.

Since the Pack have the 16th pick of the draft and they are targeting a RB, look for them to get their man in Marshawn Lynch of California. Only one other running back is rated higher than Lynch (Adrian Peterson, Oklahoma) but he will be long gone by the time they pick. If for some reason Lynch is gone too, they may go after tough feature back Antonio Pittman of Ohio State.

I am thinking they will draft a defensive back such as LaRon Landry, safety, LSU. It would help shore up the Packers number 1 defensive problem the Deep pass.

Since Peterson won't be available for them........the Pack will draft M. Lynch RB. It's time to start looking for Green's replacement.

I would like to see them trade A. Green for a couple of extra mid/late picks and pick up someone like Adrian Peterson.

i think they have their eyes on lynch out of Cal, but if there is a real playmaker such as Ginn still out there, it will be hard to pass up. I think they should draft (round order) rb,db, dl, ol, dl
