My laptop screen has some unremovable marks on it, i have tried using the special screen cleaner specifically for pc and laptop screens but it is not removing it. The marks are small black dots at bottom right of the screen. Can anybody help please. Also would like to add the laptop is under warranty but i need it so am reluctant to send it away particularly as everything else is fine working!!

The black dots might be pixels that have stopped functioning. Are they on the surface of the screeen, or are they at the same depth into the screen as the normal screen display? I have a red dot on my laptop screen, right in the middle. It is a pixel that only shows red. It has been there for ages and is not growing. Since my laptop is very old I won't be able to sell it, and it's out of guarantee, so I just leave the red dot as it is.

However, if yours is stll under guarantee, you may be able to get it swapped. A competent shop should be able to transfer all your data to the new laptop, or evemn transfer your hard drive if it is modular. I'd advsing backing up your hard drive first, just in case something goes wrong - you don't want to lose everything!

This may be damage to the screen and might not be covered under warranty unless it occured prior to arrival. If the screen was ever cleaned with the wrong cleaner or you have marks from a marker or something on it the the warranty may not cover this. Best bet is to try calling the manufacturer and see what the recommend they maybe able to perform an onsite repair if it is covered that way.

In any LCD Screens it may happens. It called the dead spot. The spot may be in any BASIC colours. The liquid Crystal on that portion/particle have no charge(electron). Your laptop have under warranty. Rush to the Hardware Vendor. They have to replace the LCD Pouch.

Good Luck.

You may have dead pixels (these can show as white or black specks), most likely suspect particularly when each speck is the same uniform shape...here's one of numerous places to do a free dead pixel test of your LCD screen.

It works online, no program to download. Check the info, run the test and if necessary contact the place where you purchased the laptop from for a possible exchange if necessary.
