i'm going thru menopause ..i'm 49. I stopped useing hormones because there's a history of cancer in my family . my question is every month i'll have intense itching ..but no discharge at all ..what can i use to help this?

I get so mad at other nurses sometimes for making the rest of us look stupid with their bullsh*t information!!!
Please, don't put Calamine Lotion on your vagina!! It is not to be used on mucous membranes or genitals.
As far as the yogurt advice,that's pretty useless,also. It is thought by some to help prevent yeast infections, but that's questionable and doesn't appear to be your problem anyway.
Aside from seeking your doctor's advice, I would say to try the over-the-counter vaginal itch creams,like Vagisil, and also look for products for vaginal dryness, which is a common cause of itching,especially after menopause.Also, you could try plain hydrocortisone ointment.

Your gynecologist can give you a prescription for estrogen cream. It doesn't carry the same dangers as taking estrogen pills does and helps with the drying out that comes with menopause.

itching is normal with menopause, i understand how it must be very bothersome for you. i would advise calamine lotion.

natural live yogurt,slosh it on,internally as well as externally,itsmessy but it works,eat it as well
