one by now?

He gave it to me on Valentine's Day, I got all excited jumping up and down, then I turn the beautiful teddy bear around and it's MISSING AN EYE! He saw the shocked look on my face,

He apologized, said he noticed it while he was at the check-out line, but didn't want to lose his spot in line!

He "claimed" he'd exchange it the next day, yeah probably his plan to get it half price .. you think he did this on purpose? to save money?

It's been two days now, and he has not mentioned returning it yet.

He's got nowhere to go!!! He's laid off from work, spaced out in front of video games!

Oh, no, he's not 18 by the way, 30!!!

Is it just me, or is a one-eyed teddy bear a bit morbid and creepy? It's supposed to be a romantic gift.

What should I do with it, and him?

Get rid of him. Just a few more minutes to get the special gift is important. No matter how long it takes. Tell him to take it back and get another one.

Are you sure that he really bought it at the store and that it isn't just an old teddy bear he picked up from a thrift shop?
That is not really the point though. If you like the teddy bear then you can just buy two eyes (look on ebay in the doll making section) and replace them.
At least he attempted to get you a gift. I'm sure lots of boyfriends/husbands out there convienently "forgot" Valentine's Day.
I'm more concerned about him being 30 and not having a job! How long has he been laid off? If a long time, then you need to reconsider if he is the "right" one.

People these days are very materialistic and we take evrything for granted. It is the little things that count. Would you stand on line for about ten minutes and then leave when a teddy bear is missing an eye? Most people would not want to considering that the lines are probably not getting shorter. I always like getting the sad looking teddy bears or even one that is missing an eye. I feel like everyone else will not want it and it deserves to have a home.

Sounds like he found a clearance sale to me and it canno't be returned which is why he hasn't mentioned anything about it. It sounds like he tried to do the best he could considering he is laid off from work, if you really care about him take the teddy bear in somewhere to have his eye fixed. It sounds like you could do better though he is laid off and laying around the house in front of the TV, but then again maybe he is just resting for a little while and he will get with it again, he may just make up someday for that gift. It was the thought that counts.

I think you should be a bit more appreciative. Like Frogbfound said, "He is winking at you". You should just give your boyfriend a hug, say thank you and move on. If if bothers you that much, then I am sure he could find a girlfriend who would love to have a cute teddy bear with one eye.

I bet if its missing an eye, he did get it half price since hes out of work. He could simply had told the checker to get him another one once he realized it was missing.
If hes not working and just playing video games, then whos paying the bills? You? Get on his as* to either get a job or find somewhere else to live.
As far as the bear is concerned, the gift is supposed to be about the thought. If it creeps you out that much, put it somewhere where you dont see it.

Maybe he has forgotten the entire thing by now. Men tend to have a one track mind - returning items is not on their top priority list.
I suggest forget about the whole thing, at least he thought enough to pick you up something for Valentine's Day. Ask yourself is it worth a fight with him over, or is it best to just tuck the bear in a closet someplace and forget about it.

Well, you could ask him where he got it, and go return it yourself. No point in having a romantic gift that makes you want to throw up everytime you look at the one eyed beast.

I'd suggest to him you both run and swap it out, or ask for the reciept and you can do it.

Unless he got it from some scary machine where we pumped quarters into it, and just randomly got the one eyed bear from a crane. :o) then I guess he couldn't really return that.

Good Luck!

well i think if he is 30 and playin video games then maybe its time to get another boyfriend. If its love then maybe he does not love you as much as you think he does only because if he loved you then he would of gotten out of line for you not to save money.

Keep the bear, dump the guy. At least the bear has character.
