How come Americans talk about helping children all the time and I am one person in a community who needs help and people know about it and no one will even offer me employment?

What crap am I blaming the world for? What is it that I need to be accountable for? Do you know anything about me? Why the judgement?

I expect nothing from no one.

Do you think all adults are in a position to help themselves? Nobody can go it alone, people are interconnected ie., they need help!

My point is if you don't have the mind to help one person in a community you can't help anybody.

I figured a while ago - 'they' want me to write a book.

You can't force someone to write a book on a topic 'they' have chosen. You can't force someone to write a book.

And when was it that I informed you I did not have kids Mr. capn_blue ? Say hello to Lightning Source.

And actually ' Mr. Lightning Source' for a lay person who who wrote and self published a book 'Man with Wounded Bird' I am very proud of my first effort. This carving 'Man with Wounded Bird' by Edna Manley is and always will be representative of the Jamaican messiah. There is nothing you can do to me that will change that.

Yep. I'm American and part of the soup. Just need to get used to the idea. This is at the end of the day, home.

I would never use public services. I am too proud. I would rather die than ask the government for money. This is my nature.

Children are very adaptable. No person is one thing or another - we wear many hats and switch back and forth. For many us what is our home and what is our heritage may be somewhat different. There is nothing wrong with this. It is all a part of who we are and what makes us individual and unique. Growing up with immigrant parents from a rural community has it's challenges as well as it's rewards. I am very proud to be both experienced in milking a goat and knowing all the latest fashion colors in InStyle magazine. I am very proud of 'real' people in my family with all their quirky ways.
America is my home but my heritage is from Jamaica. If I write another book I will always be a Carribean writer and it will always be about people from rural communities because these are the people I know best.
I am not biracial. I am black. People are individual and face individual challenges.

If I had children I believe they would be very well adjusted as I am a highly intelligent person. I believe the diverse background my children would have from interracial parents would greatly enrich their lives.

I am someone who is interested in reading and life long learning. I left high school eons ago. I took some classes at a local community college. The strengh of the papers I wrote there was on content and not on my grammar most of which I have forgotten. I wrote a book about a carving by Edna Manley named 'Man with Wounded Bird' which I self published on a whim.
My hertage is important to me and the main point I wanted to make to my audience was - if you don't value what you have someone will take it from you.' Obviously, since I have to tell you this, I did not make my point very well.
Anyway, I am writing this in this very public forum because I have had nothing but agro since the book came out. I withdrew it but it didn't help. I suspect Volusia County may be instigating the agro. Lightning Source, who probably want me to write a book, is not helping. The whole thing is taking a toll on my marriage.

If you take the time to get to know Jamaican people you will find that they really don't dislike anybody. I don't dislike anybody though I do agree that it is not a bad idea to be a little wary of people at times. It is a good idea to be familiar with the history of a country or place where you live as history affects present day cultural attitudes and values of the local people. Though attitudes change change can sometimes be a slow process.

Thank you all for the lessons and thank you for sending white supremacist bigots to my home and to stalk a woman alone. The day they had the KKK rally on Paramore they came to my home. It has been very educational. All about control huh.

My home has been entered many times by individuals whom - as their has been no forced entry - must be using a local locksmith. Copies of the title I had out have been stolen from my home. I believe my dog was made ill and died because individuals wanted entry into my home.
Without my consent or approval the title was listed being sold online through Amazon and Barnes and Noble. This went on for years while I tried to have it removed.

I became burned out in repeatative call centers and can no longer tollerate that kind of work. This why I have retrained and tried to work on other projects.
At the present time I do volunteer work because I am interested in life long learning and education and here I can do something for the community. I am trying to re-enter the workforce through volunteer opportunities.

Whatever my original response would have been was forgotten when attempting to read all of the additions you made to your first question....best of luck with whatever it is that you're trying to figure out. It must be too late in the day for me...lol

Because children aren't in a position to help themselves.
If you walked into my office and acted like I owed you a job because of your circumstances you'd be out the door in a hurry. Do like everyone else (who want to find work) in America does. Determine what your skills are, get the paper, and apply for every job even remotely related to your field of expertise. And for Gods sake, dont begin your interview by whining about your situation and how people haven't been beating down your door offering you jobs so you can leave your husband.
Thanks for not having kids, by the way. They'd really be screwed.

Not my fault you didn't see the fact that you have kids as relevant to your question. So....get a job until more than three people buy your "Wounded Bird Guy" or whatever.

I would honestly suggest that you go take an asprin or tylenol because wow you seem really stressed out about this one. Do not let your reason for staying with someone be because you don't have a job, this will eat away at you and could land you into a psychiatric hospital. Go to a shelter they have ones now that look like homes and nothing like the overcrowed ones shown in movies or on tv, so call around because you need to protect your own sanity. I wish you well.

You say American's as if you aren't one. If your a legal citizen there is plenty of help out there, start with legal aid for divorce and then get a job, if no one is giving you the jobs then maybe you aren't qualified and need to go to college.
There are plenty of programs aimed to help people in America and every state, You're not a child so don't expect them you come find you, you actually have to do some research and work to get the help you seek.

I feel for you. I don't know if the KKK and redneckes and county are really after you...but your jumbled and confusing statements that have totally gotten off the point remind me of a few people I know. They suffer from bi-polar disorder. This can be a very dangerous dillusional disorder. I would go to another county(just to be safe) and see a Doctor. Best of Luck to you, and I mean that.

My goodness, gracious, dear.! Your first stop needs to be to a counselor for help with the paranoia!!!

No one in Volusia county is trying to control you or make you do anything you don't want to do.

No one can help you until you want to be helped, and right now, you are having too much fun feeling sorry for yourswelf, and blaming everyone else for your problems.

I am unemployed, have no insurance, am almost 65, have severe arthritis and firbomyalgia, etc, etc, but for heaven's sake, it is up to ME to change it. Get a life.!

We think about the kids because well they are kids not adults that get themselves in bad situations by making bad decisions, have u ever thought the reason was you, why u dont get employment and not everyone elses fault.. how about actting like a grown up and being accountable for your own actions instead of blaming the world for your crap.

Just find your local Legal Aid Society, and contact them. To find them, simply google "Legal Aid Society" and your state/city. (URL below shows results of my search). They are very helpful. Hang in there. The days of the republicans are numbered. Things can only get better.

Maybe no one in the community needs a new employee, or maybe you’re not qualified for the available jobs, or it could be many other reasons.

Why do you feel that someone OWES you a job?
