don't expect anything. that is never good. Just let things happen. If you are a good match things will go well if you have to work at just having a conversation then you are probably not a good match

First off, let me say I have ABSOLUTELY no experience in gay male dating, so my advice is probably useless, but since its free, here ya go.
Be yourself, if you have to be anything else, this isn't someone you want to know anyway.
Listen and ask questions. People love to talk about themselves. However, avoid talking about your ex and failed relationships, its a mood killer. Same thing for health issues if you are of a certain age(that age where people seem to think their health issues is interesting conversation). NEVER talk religion or politics, and if you have kids, limit the urge to brag. No one but you thinks your kids are all that smart or cute. So let them talk, its safer.
If you did the asking out, pick up the tab. However don't fumble if the other person doesn't automatically pay it.
Be clean and well groomed, even your nails. This is not usually an issue for gay men, but I'm throwing it in as a universal suggestion.
Good luck and have fun, hope its the first of many.

First, you sound more worried about the other person liking you. What if you don't like them? Just go on the date, make conversation and see where it leads. You may like the person, you may not. Have fun and see what happens. It doesn't mean you'll be walking down the aisle tomorrow.

enjoy the date. Don't expect anything other than conversation. You will be able to tell in a short while, how you and your date will hit it off.

Just live. It's not rocket science. You only live once. I'm not a strong believer in rebound time. Best to move on and don't be lonely. Life is short. :) *smooch*

It's an opportunity to make another friend in life.
If something deeper develops, that's only a bonus. :)

Listen to Mahogany. And relax, don't pressure yourself. He's more afraid of you than you are of him.
