Reid's been in the news lately because of the trouble his sons have gotten into. His Mormon religion states that family comes first, and he's taking a leave of absence in March. Do you think he should resign, or is he blowing things out of proportion?

For the record, I personally don't think he should resign. It's not that big a deal, people have had far worse trouble than his kids. I just wonder if people think he should, and why.

Both his kids are grown men.
It is admirable he wants to help them, and shows his love for them.
People can't judge him by what his kids do, especially if they are both over 20 years of age.
He is a football coach, he has great success doing that, and there is no reason for him to resign.

Of course not!! Andy Reid has a life outside football and like most people it's not perfect. Why should he resign? The Mormon's need to get a grip on reality. It's not Andy's fault that his sons made some bad choices. He's doing the right thing by taking some time off the try and help correct the situation.

No he shouldn't resign. He's not blowing things out of proportion though either. He has one kid that's a herion addict and another one pointing pistols at people. Both of them hitting other motorists with cars. He needs to get his family straight or else he's not going to be able to fully concentrate on football, so I think the leave of absence is a good thing. Personally, I think he should take as much time as needed. I'm sure the Eagles front office would understand and support him.

No Stella, you are the one blowing things out of proportion.
Why even suggest such a thing?

Because of idiotic, irresponsible and dangerous social behavior by today's young adults, parents can't be held responsible for everything they do when they get themselves in trouble.

Andy Reid has had enough distractions what with the T.O. fiasco and Donovan being injured (again)....and now this crazy behavior by his son(s).

Let's cut him some slack...this is probably the best time of the year for this to occur to him, and he's doing the right thing by stepping away for a month or so to set things straight within his family structure so he can once again concentrate on the business at hand, and that is...getting the Eagles to the next Super Bowl.

Ordinary People sometimes fell to realize that these high profile people need to be "ordinary" sometimes just to keep their sanity.I don't think he should resign, but I understand what you are saying. Yes, he is a Mormon; but what will he do the next time they get in trouble or if he gets in trouble some type of way. The questions will always be there now and he as to deal with it his way. I hope that you don't have to be a Mormom just to take care of your family. My hat's off to Mr. Reid just for taking care of his own. He could of hired some head-doctor and got reports from him/her. People should mind there business and take care of home like Reid before there is no home to take care of.

It is too early in the situation to make a statement of ultimatium. We don't know enough about his family situation to even really speculate. What we do know, is that his teams have constantly had a high level of talent, but he has not won a Championship. So, personnally, we can't say that he should, but professionally, I think it might be time for the Eagles to go in a different direction.

YES! I am not an Eagles fan but my roomates are, and after Andy giving up against the Saints. (Yes, punting on forth down when your defense has not stopped them all night, is giving up). Andy needs to move on. He is a great coach but a change of venue will make him a better asset to the team he ends up with.

No, this doesn't require him to lose everything he's worked for. The Eagles have been nice enough to grant him the time to get away from his responsibilities (football) to tend to his family. I think the month away will do him and his family much good.
