Of course they were Liberals, they wanted progress and not the same old same old of the British rule.

I don't think there has been anyone since the Founding Fathers that is more liberal than Jefferson. This country was founded on the basis of getting away from tyranny and absolute rule. Where you get that they were NeoCons, I cannot imagine. This administration has tried to change the very constitution of the Founding Fathers with the Patriot act. The fourth ammendment was gutted with it. The freedoms that these Founders of this country fought for and died for, and all the military members since, have been handed over because of the scare tactics of the Bush administration. Keep people afraid enough and you can get them to do anything you want. I think if Jefferson, Franklin, Washington, Adams knew what George and Cheney were about, they would be spinning in their graves. They would be horrified at what the Republicans have done to this great nation during the Bush years. They would be horrified that the will of the people is ignored and elections tampered with. The Republicans of today are hardly the stuff of which the Founding Fathers were made. They cannot even compare with their shadows.

i think of maximum anybody is lacking the element of what your asserting. They have been radical. They broke the chains off from tyranny and carved a clean u . s . a . out of no longer something yet a the burning desire for a freedom no different u . s . a . had ever had until eventually now. maximum anybody is asserting they have been Liberal for their day, which i think you're able to say become real. A Liberal decrease back then become like a Libertarian in the present day. They wanted much less government administration and extra rights to the human beings. yet they are not what we would evaluate in the present day a Liberal. Its meaning has morphed lots over the final a hundred years. in the present day, the could be considered Conservatives. yet another element anybody is making is that some favourite a bigger substantial government and a few favourite states rights. yet that with the help of no potential makes Federalists something akin to the human beings who desire extra substantial government administration in the present day. they might nonetheless be considered very Conservative. If human beings might incredibly study the countless diaries and papers with the help of the Founders, they might discover all I stated to be real. Heck, bypass study the unique shape and announcement of Independence. My argument is totally supported in those papers on my own.

They were Liberals! They fought to throw off the shackles of the oppressive tyranny that was British rule. They argued for the rights of the common people. They created radical new laws that changed the face of world politics. Laws that are still just as noble and just today as they were when first They were penned. These paragons of enlightenment were not perfect Men, but at least They strove to achieve something good and noble and were ever prepared to contribute with Their lives had it been asked of Them. Yes, They were Liberal thinkers long before the term was corrupted by less Honorable people for Their own ends.

You bet your aunt Sally's ash can we wouldn't have! Liberals are willing to cave to ANY restrictions that ANY goverment puts on them. All those sissy babies want is the so-called "tranquility" that cooperation with even the most restricive governments "brings"
I'm a Liberterian and think that both Republicans and Democrats are going to screw this country up big time if they continue on this path of regulating every facet of the American people's lives. Thomas Jefferson could have been considered a Liberterian based upon his ideas of a less restrictive form of government. I'm sure he's rolling over in his grave right now, based upon the state of our nation.

Absolutelystill england and not at all united either. To busy whining to unite. Those libs are so afraid of change and religion. One of the reasons for the break off was religious persecution. Look at how the libs are deconstructing the constitution. Freedom of speech (unless you are christian then don't even think of going against the aclu). Seperation of church and state is worded and meant to keep govt out of messing with any religion in any way. Look how many religious freedoms the govt has taken away based on libs whining.- ten commandments and nativity scenes off of public property, prayer in school, wanting to take "in god we trust" off of money. Icould go on and on.

We would still be part of England and the liberals would be whining to the king about everything. The king would be trying to be free from us. I also believe there would still be the crown in control.

HARD TO SAY, IT IS A GREAT POINT CAUSE IF THEY WERE THERE WOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN A REVOLUTIONARY WAR AGAINST BRITAIN.
THE ROMAN EMPIRE FELL BECAUSE OF THEIR LIBERAL WAYS, AND IT IS SAD TO SAY THAT WE ARE GOING DOWN THAT PATH OF ACCEPTANCE FOR ALL UNMORAL THINGS THE SAME WAY.
I ONLY PRAY THAT SOMETHING WILL REVERSE THIS TREND.
