I purchased an album by FM called TIME. Which consisted of Messrs Fleetwood and McVie plus Christime McVie and three individuals called Billy Burnett, David Mason and Bekka Bramlett. (The album was rubbish by the way). The next thing I know, Burnett, Mason and Bramlett have vanished and Buckingham Nicks have returned. How, when and why did this happen?

This happened in the 90's. Why actually dates back to the 80's when after I believe the Tango In The Night album Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham left because Stevie was having a good solo career and couldn't get along with Lindsey. Lindsey initially left in the 90's and was replaced by Billy Burnett and Rick Vito for the Mask album. After that album Stevie Nicks and Rick Vito left and Dave Mason and Bekka Bramlett joined and released the god awful album Time. After that the Fleetwood, McVie, McVie Nicks, Buckingham lineup reunited for the Bill Clinton innauguration. Then in 1997 put out the live album The Dance. After The Dance Christine McVie left just before the 2003 album Say You Will.

Don't bet the farm on this, but I think FM was around for awhile before Buckingham and Nicks joined. They didn't become popular until Buckingham and Nicks were in the group. When they joined they all collaborated and produced 2 wonderful albums, Fleetwood Mac and Rumours. There was another album after that called Tusk, which kinda sucked. I think the album you have was from before B & N joined.

Somewhere back in 1974, Mick Fleetwood who has been one of the original members dating back to the late 60's, took notice of Lindsey Buckingham and I believe asked him to join Fleetwood Mac but he would not unless Stevie was with him, on the recording deal with a different record company, before Warner Brothers, released The White Album in 1975 which had the hit Rhiannon, then Rumours was released in Feb. 1977, and from then on it was history, Tusk came after in 1979, if that helps...
