Absolutely. He ALWAYS plays the snide, sarcastic, often down-on-his-luck yet ultimately loveable Brit. And I think every movie he's ever done is a romantic comedy.

It's funny you bring this up because my wife and I were just talking about his new movie with Drew Barrymore, who also makes the same movie over and over and perpetually plays the goofy and lovelorn good girl who can never seem to find Mr. Right. She too ONLY stars in romantic comedies. And unfortunately, most of them seem to be with Adam Sandler, who ALSO makes the same terrible movie over and over and over...

He is totally type cast. The bumbling, quirky Brit who women fall madly in love with. Haha But at the same time I don't hate on him...sometimes I like his movies, sometimes I don't. He has made some really good ones and some stinkers. But you are deffinetly right..always the same role.

yes, I noticed this years ago. I think British film makers use him when they need a famiilar boring klutzy character that can also be lovable and with that 'boyish' charm.

I think he's predictable and boring.

Wow, I never considered that, but had quickly decided he was boring. Now that you bring it up.....YES, it truly does. I wonder how many of us just never noticed because we were lulled into boredom first.
