In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.
The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of Gods plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.
Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.
Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.
Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It’s meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.
Love and blessings

I've wondered the exact same thing. Why would Satan punish the people who either worship him and/or don't believe in god. It doesn't make sense. But neither does the rest of the bible.

Considering God is going to win in the end, he is infinitely more powerful, and he is filled with love, joy and peace, I would say he is more joyful (long-term happiness). Satan is probably happy in the since that he's taking as many people down as he can and he enjoys that, but that's short-term happiness. Don't let satan fool you, is not as happy as he seems, and he is the father of all lies.

As of now, I don't know. However, Satan will be happier than God if Hillary Clinton wins the 2016 Presidential
Election. Still happier if Democrats successfully regain control of both houses of Congress. Even more happy if Hillary can remove some Supreme Court justices who she doesn't favor and replace them with some she does. Satan would be deliriously happy if Hillary's 2020 campaign amounted to a purge, a witch hunt.
Then she could abolish the two term limitation of the presidency and proclaim herself dictator for life.
Who and what make God happy? DONALD TRUMP! He is a super American, one of the highest order, who represents the interests of real Americans, true Americans. He is the only person to my knowledge who can deal with Hillary accordingly. He can "TRUMP" Hillary, steamroll her and flatten her like a pancake. Hillary opposes immigrant reform she cause she knows that more poor immigrants means more democratic votes.
Donald Trump would not allow that to happen. The 2016 Presidential Election is Armageddon.
SATAN AND HILLARY MUST BE DEFEATED AT ALL COSTS! DONALD TRUMP MUST PREVAIL!
