I just know my view will be reported because these people can't stand an opposing view point, it's just not allowed in this PC world. Tim Hardaway walked up to the plate and said what 99% of us feel, this is NOT a life-style, it's a mental illness that has been packaged and sold as just another life-style choice. It's filth, sick and it must be stood up too, enough is enough. Our town just past a new law to stop the outragous parades that took place once a year. We had to hide our children eyes from this parade of dysfuntion dancing down our city streets, the people voted and 92.6% of our people said NO!!!! THE PEOPLE said NO MORE!! This mental illness must stop and it must be treated as the Mental Illness it is!

Do you agree?

Soap Lady, you bring up God, well God clearly is against this life choice, and I'm sure you are aware of his view on this subject. Do NOT confuse this with hate, it's NOT hate. I hate NO person, but we must reconize the truth of the mental illness

Listen to the hate in here. I never mentioned hate. I too have a view, it may differ from your but the hate did not come from me, only many of the people in here

Hardaway spoke his opinion, not the truth. As for homosexuality being a choice, this must mean that heterosexuality is also a choice.

Your town passed a law banning gay pride parades?? I hope the town bans all parades because this is discrimination. If you find pride parades offensive, why do you go and watch.

Did God tell you directly what His thoughts on the matter is.??

You can have a differing opinion but you sound like a true closet case.

I even must be care on how I answer this... i do no longer agree including your perspectives about homosexuality, yet I do agree that what he says takes guts. Take the completed homosexuality topic out of the equation. He made a stance hostile to at least some thing controversial. you are able to or would no longer agree including his statements, which fairly shouldn't aspect into the "guts" question. when you're making a 'gutsy' fact you higher advantageous be prepared to face the backlash once you're prejudicing a collection...a black guy must understand that. His statements were once spewed through many 40+ years in the past (or maybe immediately) besides the undeniable fact that the note "homosexuals" grow to get replaced through "black." i do not trust in people declaring the right aspect for the sake of declaring the right aspect. I quite someone be quiet in the adventure that they understand they a dumb view. those who hate fairly trust it. i'd quite have them say it. this permits them to face the backlash and sweetness no matter if it is smart. It also makes some thing else people comprehend that there are ignorant people obtainable. It also enlightens people on how dumb people are. i imagine his perspectives are very ignorant. yet I also do not imagine this can be a pc issue both. To me pc, is softening some thing to make some thing undesirable sound more beneficial advantageous: Shell very much shocked will grow to be submit-aggravating stress syndrom. through allowing people to stay their lives with an similar freedom anybody else expects - love who they love, eat what they prefer, etc. and asking people to address people as equals isn't political correctness - it is undemanding experience. i imagine pc is used way too a lot - a lot in the way the note "ironic" is overused.

I won't report you, I can't be bothered, but I do find your lies, and lets be clear you are a liar, about 99% that hate gays. Well sweets, that number is, shall we say, contrived, hence you being a liar. As for your town, well I have no doubt that about 30 or so years ago they probably would have lynched Mr. Hardaway for simply talking to a white girl, so for obvious reasons, taking someone like you, your town or Mr. Hardaway seriously would not be possible and in fact isn't. As for you not hating people, of course you do, again you're lying. For a man, or should I say child, who probably claims to be Christian, you do an awful lot of lying. Tell me, do you also lie in your everyday life as well or just here where, coward that you clearly are, you can hide and not face those you would harm.

No doubt, given the chance, you would have us in camps, gas chambers or ovens. I've seen it before.

A Mental Illness????

Ok I am not going to even begin to go into this as deeply as I would like...but lesbians and gays are not mentally ill and it is not a choice...as a lesbian it is a shame that you could lump being mentally ill with being gay/lesbian.

99% of the world does not agree with you either...sorry to break this to you. Gay pride is us saying we are proud of who we are..yes there are some people who are more vocal and flamboyant than others but do not ...do not say someone is mentally ill because they are being who they are.

I was a lesbian as a child and I knew the feelings that I had about women at five years old, not you tell me what five year old knows they want a woman..well I did....and I am a well educated, well grounded woman...have a job..have a degree in graphic design...have a home of my own and have a partner that I have been with for seven years...also pulling apart the theory that gay/lesbians are just out for sex and a quick thrill.

Say what you want but your facts are incorrect and so are you.

Be blessed

Oh and one more thing...I am sick of people say that gay/lesbians have no religion in their life because that is a lie we rely on our faith to keep going everyday...so whatever.

Everyone that says they would never share a locker room with a gay person- well wake up- you probably did at some point during school. I was a nationally ranked collegiate athlete- I know what locker rooms are like. But I also knew guys that we all had questions about, but that changed nothing- only your performance on the field mattered, not whose bed you shared. If you've ever been a member of a gym, then you've definitely shared those locker rooms with gay people. Gay people are not all obvious- you never know how much interaction you've had with them, and you had no clue. And believe me, not every straight person is the object of desire by gay people, contrary to their beliefs. But the fact that they have to hide themselves does make their struggle comparable to that of blacks and other races. Gays were sent to concentration camps right alongside Jews in Nazi Germany. Would you choose to be gay in that situation? Race may not be a choice, but I'm sure if during slavery, if you asked any black person if they had a choice- be black or be white, you would not be surprised as to their answer. Imagine what gay black people go through- double whammy! Now today's environment would not allow us to treat gays the way blacks were treated from slavery and onward- we claim to be more evolved than that. Tim Hardaway's comments are pretty much the only way people who hold his opinions can express themselves without stepping on the rights of someone else. So yes, he can say what he wants, and in doing so he does expose the ugly truth of major league sports in the US (and the ignorance of sports fans also). But his comments were based on ignorance, from what I can gather- if he could ever intelligently discuss what he felt, then go ahead (no matter what he feels). But using hateful words does nothing to get his point across, and only makes him the object of villification.

Since when was homosexuality a mental illness? Why is it sick for people who are born attracted to the same sex, to try to make ignorant idiots like you understand? Tim Hardaway openly said that he is a homophobic and hates gay people, which I think is about the same as a white man openly saying that he is a racist and saying that he hates black people. I agree with you on one thing. It's not a lifestyle. It's just who they are. They arent crazy perverts. They are just naturally attracted to the same sex. Being gay is not a disease, it's just part of who you are, and homophobics like you are the reason that so many gay people are so afraid to come out.

No, the only mental illness is that which takes the form of hate and intolerance. There is absolutely nothing wrong with gays and lesbians. Only the Bigots agree with your assessment and they are not even close to 99% of the population. Hardaway will do just fine sitting on the bench somewhere and finding his face up there with the likes of Anita Bryant.

Sounds like he is already getting what he deserves.....
Hardaway has reportedly been removed from further league-related appearances.

That makes as much sense as a short person just saying "no" to being veritically challenged. I will make a conscious effort to grow taller, I will seek therapy for it.

You know, even from a religious point of view - this world is exploding in population. How do you know that God isn't making more gay people to control the population while allowing his children still to love and be loved?

I say this, and I'm a straight woman. I just think that it's time the heterosexual population started to stand up for gay rights. It offends me deep in my soul that a distinct part of our population is subjected to discrimination like this. Makes me sick.

He's a moron. A person is entitled to their opinion but when one is a celebrity or public figure then denigrating a group of people is extremely foolish. When you dependent on the public to purchase your product, pay to attend your events, etc. then it's very stupid to alienate a portion of your audience. A person like you may think this is a smart move on his behalf but I don't. The NBA is not happy about this. There are basketball fans who are gay or who have gay friends or family members who may choose not to support the team anymore. Stupidity is not an admirable trait.

I wholeheartedly agree with Tim Hardaway. But I also agree that he took it too beyond the limit. But anyway, he expressed his own thoughts. If that is a big fault, then we have no hope. People should learn to be more civilized.
